Woburn, MA (November 16, 2004) – U.S. Genomics today announced that Tim Germann joined the Company’s management team in the newly created role of Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Mr. Germann will spearhead the creation of a dedicated sales force for U.S. Genomics’ recently launched Trilogy™ platform Single Molecule Analyzer, a technology that directly detects and quantitates individual molecules of miRNAs, as well as DNA, RNA, and proteins, without the need for amplification.

Mr. Germann joins U.S. Genomics from Affymetrix (Nasdaq: AFFX), a life sciences tools provider, where he served as the northeast sales manager responsible for over $25 million in sales. Prior to his tenure at Affymetrix, Mr. Germann held sales or management positions at Stratagene, Genometrix, Incyte Genomics, and Molecular Devices Corporation. Mr. Germann earned his BS degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University.
